ROSS OWEN & THE TRIBE
Ross Owen is an artist from Navesink, on the Jersey shore. He began recording his first album, Sylvænus in his basement studio (Avenue B) when he was 14, then released Sylvænus in January 2018 at age 16.
Some of Ross's influences include Steely Dan, Little Feat, Yes and Beck.
Ross’s live band “the Tribe” was formed in September 2018. Ross and his bandmates Georgi James (bass) and Victor Montanaro (drums) have been playing together since 2013 as the inaugural band members of the Lakehouse Music Academy pro band. During this time they developed some serious playing chops, performing cover songs around venues in Asbury Park, such as the Stone Pony, Wonder Bar and Asbury Lanes.
Ross Owen and the Tribe have been playing at various venues in Ocean and Monmouth county and are available for bookings. Ross’s songs perform really great live and the Tribe has an abundance of raw energy for only having three band members.
Ross's second album Seed was released on May 1, 2019 on all online music services. Songs like “Cheese Fry”, “Pollen” and “Valentine’s Day” fuse together an edgy poppiness to his progressive sound. The song “REDED” makes a profound statement about the academic system of education in America... Go to the home page and click the links to listen!
